NATURE FIGHTS BACK AND DESTROYS GOVERNOR OKOROCHA’S SUB-STANDARD PROJECTS
All buildings Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha scheduled for commissioning by the Nigeria Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo next week have been destroyed by heavy storm which started in the late hours of Sunday 10th June 2018.
The projects scheduled for commissioning are Owerri City School, Heroes Square, Freedom Square, Secondary and Primary Schools etc, had all their roofings and skeletal works pulled down by the heavy rain storm of Sunday night.
Even newly expanded roads are not left out as flood unearthed the asphalts used to paint them. Also affected are the iron works and street poles Governor Rochas Okorocha used in roofing Owerri roads.
Moreso, all billboards bearing Governor Rochas Okorocha or his Son-in-law, Uche Nwosu has been pulled down by the rampaging storm. Fortunately, the storm which seemed to be on a mission to destroy Okorocha’s seemingly good works, didn’t kill anyone all through the rampage.
It would be great to know that these so called roads, buildings etc to be commissioned were built by Okorocha’s very own construction company called Roche Company, a company who before now only existed as an Irish firm without any vested business in Nigeria. But has become the major construction company in Owerri, occupying the former site used by Julius Berger at Onitsha Road Industrial Layout Owerri as its office, and is now handling most government contracts at ridiculous amounts.
With the latest development, Imo people who ordinarily should be worried and sober are discussing in groups how nature is fighting back against Okorocha’s substandard infrastructures in the state.
The calamitous wild-wind wasn’t merciful at all. We thank God, it happened in the night and on weekend when children were at home.
