The Independent National Election Commission INEC has announced that it will suspend the Continuous Voters Registration (CVR), on August 17th until after the general elections in 2019. This decision was reached at a stakeholders meeting which held between political parties, leading media, civil society organisations and security agencies, in consultation with INEC.

According to the document obtained exclusively by WakeUpAfrica, the aim of this conclusion which is also in compliance of statutory timelines and obligations, is to give adequate time between the registration of PVC and actual production and collection. And so the agreement reached is that the exercise would be suspended by 3pm on Friday of August 17 2018.

All eligible Nigerian voters are hereby encouraged to get their PVCs NOW, because this simply means that you will no longer be able to register to vote until after the 2019 elections. GET YOUR PVC NOW
