DUNCAN MIGHTY THRILLS CROWD AT AFROBEAT PARTY 2018
It was a night of music, fun and dance at the 2018 Afrobeat Party, which held on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd of August, at the Afreika shrine in Ikeja. The Afrobeat party which was sponsored by Regal Dry Gin and powered by Streetmedia, was done to celebrate 21 years of the late Fela Kuti aka Abami Eda’s demise.
As was expected the place was jam packed with lovers of good afro music, and the many acts who to perform didn’t fail to impress the crowd. The crowd could be seen singing along to the songs they know, dancing along and with lots of drinking and Indian hemp smoking, which is allowed in the Afrika Shrine premises.
The event which started on Thursday had lots of established acts who also performed such as Kelly Handsome, Toby Gray, Tolu Wealth, Barry J, Hypa, Roozy, Andy, Okal, Street Billionaires, Oscar P, Gubade, Perruzi, Mr Tob, Emperor Zin, Zinathan, Danny X, Myro, Dre San, with Duncan Mighty as the headline act. In all over 50 artistes thrilled the crowd at the two-day Afrobeat party, plus very good music mix from DJ Step.
Kelly Handsome was the headline act for day 1 and Duncan Mighty was the headline act for day 2, and it was a super performance from the ‘Port-Harcourt’ first son, when the excited crowd sang and danced along to all his songs. Being inspired by the response of the crowd, Duncan mighty delivered a stunning performance which brought the show to an end.
The excited audience expressed their satisfaction with the show, and said they look forward to the next Afrobeat Party in 2019.
