Atiku Abubarkar Wins PDP Presidential Primaries

In a keenly contested presidential primaries of the PDP, which held yesterday in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, which had the biggest names in PDP contesting for the number 1 position. Former Vice President Atiku Abubarkar, the Turaki Adamawa has emerged as the presidential candidate with a total of 1,532 votes.

The 71 year old, who will be contesting for president the fourth time in 21019, won over the likes of Bukola Saraki, Aminu Tambuwal, Sule Lamido, Dankwambo, David Mark, Makarfi etc.

Atiku’s victory was agreed as free and fair by all other aspirants, even though they were unconfirmed reports of votes buying in dollars by Atiku, Saraki and Wike. Delegates were said to be given between $1,000-$5000 by Atiku, Wike and Saraki.

However all parties agreed that Atiku’s win was justified, as the only candidate that came close to Atiku’s number was Aminu Tambuwal who got 693 votes. The rest had low number of votes. the good thing is that all other candidates showered rare camaraderie by congratulating the PDP presidential candidate Atiku, and promised to work with him to ensure the PDP is reinstalled to power come 2019.
