INEC Bars APC From Contesting For Elections In Zamfara State

INEC issued a statement yesterday 10 October, stating that it has barred the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, from fielding candidates or contesting in the 2019 elections. This ban was as a result of the APC’s inability to conduct its state primaries on the October 7th deadline.

The consequence of the ban is that APC will not have Governorship, State Assembly and National Assembly candidates in Zamfara state. This development will definitely affect the chances of the APC in Zamfara State in particular, and Nigeria in general.

However the APC is not taking this lying low. The National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, has challenged INEC, insisting that the APC has the right to field candidates for all electoral positions in 2019.

What do you think of INEC’s decision towards APC?
