Imo Governor, Rochas Okorocha, El-Rufia Clash In Secret Meeting
It appears that the relationship between Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State and the ruling APC is about to end, and it may not end well. Information reaching WakeUpAfrica360, through an anonymous source (who is an aide to one of the governors) has it that the governor of Imo State, Mr. Rochas Okorocha, had a big and direct confrontation with some top APC leader in Abuja last weekend. This fracas is connected with the open threat Okorocha made, that he would work against APC if his in-law Uche Nwosu, is not helped by the APC to become governor of Imo State.
The APC leaders present in the secret meeting included governor of Kaduna State, Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai, Rochas Okorocha, Yahaya Bello among others. In that meeting, Okorocha solicited once again for the complete support of the APC, and the power of incumbency to subdue the Imo population and enforce his choice candidate Uche Nwosu as the next governor of Imo State. Okorocha reiterated that same thing was done in Ekitii and Osun states, and asked why it couldn’t be done in Imo State, with the help of the FG power.
According to our source, trouble started when Okorocha who became emotional as he made his request was shouted down by El-Rufai. El-Rufai taunted Okorocha that he is afraid because he will rot in jail, if another governorship candidate wins the Imo State elections. A visibly annoyed and shaken Okorocha resolved to threats, citing how he took a very gigantic risk by aiding APC and Buhari into power, despite the hatred by the South Easterners in general. Mr. Okorocha also threatened to help Nnamdi Kanu, who is the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biara (IPOB), into exposing the impostor in Aso Rock who is not Buhari.
Our source claimed that Okorocha maintained that he has every information which proves that the man in Aso Rock is not Buhari, at his disposal, saying that he will mention all the people involved in the evil plot to deceive Nigerians. These threats infuriated El-Rufai in particular, and almost resulted into physical fight especially between Okorocha and El-Rufai. The meeting ended abruptly with El-Rufai dashing out of the conference room, into his waiting car looking highly furious. The secret close-door meeting was held without the presence of any journalist or camera.
