Offa Robbery, Saraki Insists There Is More To The Death Of Prime Suspect In Police Custody
The prime suspect in the April 15th Offa robbery Michael Adikwu is dead. This is according to the information passed by the Force Headquarters to the office of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Kwara State.
Commissioner for Justice in Kwara State Kamaldeen Ajibade disclosed the information in court on Wednesday, when five suspects were arraigned before an Ilorin High Court in connection with the Offa robbery.
Meanwhile, the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki has called on the Presidency to institute a judicial inquiry to ascertain ‘how and when’ the suspect died.
Saraki said in a statement by his Special Adviser (Media & Publicity), Yusuph Olaniyonu, that this development has vindicated him that the investigation was politically motivated to implicate him, Governor Abdulfatai Ahmed and others. Saraki also stated that the suspect may have been murdered in police custody.
Saraki also said that now that there should be diligent and prompt prosecution so that justice can be transparently done to both the victims of the Offa robbery and the accused persons.
