Just In; AIG Adamu takes over as Acting Inspector General of Police

The Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Mohammed Adamu has today, taken over as the acting Inspector General of Police, IGP. The former IGP, Ibrahim Idris who retired today, after controversial calls for his retirement across all quarters, took his successor, Adamu to President Muhammadu Buhari, who decorated him in his new rank at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Mohammed Adamu, who is from Nassarawa State, thanked President Buhari for finding him worthy of the position and promised to be professional in the discharge of his duties.

Outgoing IGP Idris asked Nigerians to extend cooperation to his successor
