How To Think Like The Wealthiest One Percent In The World
The famous entrepreneur, author and businessman Zig Ziglar once said that “Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will”. To become a successful businessman, you must learn to maintain your originality and think as a winner. Thinking positive may be a very difficult task especially under circumstances when everything seems to be against you. But to forge ahead with your business idea and make a lasting impact, you must think like the wealthiest one percent in the world do;
1. Think Ideas
If there is one lesson I have picked up after following several successful entrepreneurs for a long time, then it has to do with their views about ideas. Every successful businessman will tell you that, what is needed most to establish a business is not money but a viable idea. Ghanaian millionaire Dr. Agyekum, is a classical example of this principle, he built his multinational pharmaceutical company with an idea and integrity. Your outlook about becoming a successful entrepreneur must always correspond with the potency of your idea. All successful entrepreneurs recognize that the first ingredient needed for a successful business is not money but an idea, and an effective plan to go with.
2. Think Solutions
The success of every business idea must be measured by the number of lives it affects. The late Steve Jobs was not a successful entrepreneur simply because he came up with a great idea; rather, he is considered successful because he provided the world with a solution to a problem in life. Many entrepreneurs are often misguided as to the real essence of their business ideas. Great ideas are only great to the extent that it makes life easier for people. Think about effecting solutions and your business will grow and blossom.
3.Think Integrity – Have strong morals, Ethics and Values
The story of Ibrahim Sima, the late businessman and former boss of Exopa Modeling Agency in Ghana, is one that speaks directly to the issue of integrity and entrepreneurship. Integrity may not be a priority for the crooked yet successful entrepreneur, but if you really want your business enterprise to stand the test of scrutiny, then you must think about building a solid integrity foundation. Ibrahim was convicted in 2011 for a drug related offence that caused his business empire to eventually collapse, as he was locked up in prison. Integrity here means that you do not engage in shady business transactions, you do not pay bribes no matter how small it is, you stand behind your word, you deliver on your promise and try as much as possible to pay your creditors on time. An easy way to guarantee the collapse of a business enterprise is when the entrepreneur fails to pass the integrity test.
“The one who wants to go far goes alone, but the one who wants to succeed goes with somebody.”
Successful businessmen think in terms of partnerships. The best partnerships are not dependent on a mere common goal but on a shared path of equality, respect, desire and no small amount of passion. In looking out for partnerships, focus on people who are equally passionate about their ideas and partner with them.
