Violence Mar Elections In Okota, As Thugs Attack Officials & Voters

Most areas in Lagos State, reported a peaceful electoral process in the presidential and National Assembly elections which held in Nigeria today. But same cannot be said for Ago Palace Way, Okota. The Isolo area is highly populated by Ibos, and the likelihood that they may vote for other parties especially the PDP is very high.

The violence happened on Saturday 23rd February, specifically in polling units in these areas, Balogun Street, Nwachukwu Drive and Canal Estate, all in Ago Palace Way.

We escaped death by the grace of God, voting was going on peacefully before APC touts on about 30 okada with cutlasses came and started throwing bottles at both electorates and INEC official. They scattered all the materials and made away with some. We heard them shouting “this is not Onitsha or Aba”. Every living soul there ran away till some security men came and wanted voting to continue, but the INEC team said that they can’t continue because some materials are missing. Honestly I pity for Nigeria. We have been disenfranchised, but the INEC officials promised us that all the polling stations on Nwachukwu Drive and some parts of Ago Palace Way.

In other news, here is a video in which the sender claims the APC were giving voters money to vote for them in the Northern parts of Nigeria.
