INEC Assures Nigerians Tomorrow’s Elections Will Be Credible
All is set for Saturday March 9th governorship, State House of Assembly and Federal Capital elections, according to INEC. This much was said by INEC Chairman Professor Yakubu Mahmood, at a stakeholders meeting, comprising of members of the INEC commission, and Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCE), as they reviewed the level of preparedness in the elections.
The NSA Babagana Monguno, who was represented by Sanusi Galadima, assured Nigerians of a free, fair and credible elections. Also speaking at the session, the IG of Police, Mohammed Adamu also assured the electorate, that the security agencies will not interfere with the process, as their job is only to ensure that both INEC staff, electorate and election materials are safe. And that the elections are orderly and void of violence and thuggery.
Baring any last minute changes, the elections will hold between the over 90 registered political parties, across the 36 states of the country and the FCT.
