Asamoah Gyan retires from Black Stars over captaincy dispute

Ghana’s all-time scorer Asamoah Gyan has announced his retirement from international football.

The Kayserispor forward decided to call time on his national team career after it was reported that Coach Kwesi Appiah was set to name Andre Ayew as the new captain of Black Stars ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

A gsource revealed that a furious Gyan confronted  Kwesi Appiah over the matter which resulted in a serious altercation.

Following the latest development, the striker took to official Twitter account to make the announcement.
