Imo Group Have Vowed To Protect Themselves From Herdsmen Attack

The proliferation of herdsmen within the South-East has gotten so bad, to the extent that a group in Imo State under the aegis of Indigenous Imo Town Unions, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to address the constant herdsmen attacks in South-East.

The leaders of the group has intimated that failure to do that, they would resort to self-defense to protect themselves.

In a communiqué after their meeting in Owerri, they urged the Federal Government to live up to its responsibilities.

In the communiqué, which was signed by its National President Emeka Diwe, the group said, “One of the primary roles and obligations a reasonable and caring government owes its people, is protection of lives and property. It follows that where the government fails in this important duty, the citizens will be left with no other option but to reactivate traditional self-defense approach, to avoid being destroyed or exterminated by the invaders/attackers.”

Do you think Imo group resorting to self-defense is the best option?
