SARS Operatives Kill Most Wanted Kidnapper (Pencil) In Ikorodu Lagos

Residents of Ikorodu can now heave a sigh of relief as Mufutau Sualimon, aka (Pencil), a suspected kidnap kingpin, has been shot dead. Sulaimon was killed on Sunday night, in a gun battle with the police at Odogunya area of Ikorodu. The police described Sulaimon as the most-wanted notorious kidnap ring leader in Ikorodu and its environs.

They revealed that the late Sulaimon led his gang in the kidnap of two bureau de change operators in Ikorodu on March 14, 2019, they collected a ransom of N1.6M, and killed the bureau de change operators and buried them and two other victims in a septic tank.

Sulaimon and his gang were wanted by the police for multiple murder and kidnappings and mysterious disappearing of people in Ikorodu over a period of time.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Bala Elkana, described Pencil and his gang members as serial killers, rapists, and cultists. And stated that Pencil died as a result of bullet wounds sustained during the shoot out.

According to the police, three members of Pencil’s gang had been earlier arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS); they led the SARS operatives to their den in Ikorodu, where the bodies of the two bureau de change operators and other victims were exhumed.

Elkana who revealed further details of how Pencil was caught said that sustained monitoring of Pencil finally yielded positive results on Sunday, as a police team traced him to his hideout at Odogunya, Ikorodu. Pencil was said to have engaged the police team led by DSP Rotimi Ogunmuyiwa, in a gun battle.

He said that two SARS operatives, Omola Adedeji and Oluwadare Gbenga sustained injuries, while Pencil sustained bullet wound in his legs. And that both the injured policemen and the suspect were rushed to the hospital where Pencil was confirmed dead on arrival, while the injured operatives were taken to the intensive care unit of an undisclosed hospital where they are currently responding to treatment. “One gun with live ammunition and expanded ammunition were recovered from Pencil.”
