Three (3) ways to develop a daily Success Routine
Creating a daily success routine can be a very daunting task especially in a period when many things are competing for our time right from the moment we wake up from bed, but that notwithstanding, here are three effective ways of creating a daily success routine;
Focus on important tasks first
Ralph Martson, writer and publisher of the Daily Motivator summarized this point for us when he wrote, “your destiny is to fulfill those things upon which you focus most intently. So choose to keep your focus on that which is always moving you towards something worthwhile.” Creating a daily success routine is a decision that must be consciously made and followed through until you get to the point when it comes to you naturally. To achieve a total focus on the things that matter most; recognize what is worthy of your total focus every day. It may be calling your clients, writing reports or perhaps going to the market to sell. Whatever it may be try as much as possible to focus on the most important things of your day first before any other thing. To do that effectively, draw a priority list of all the activities you must undertake every day.
Life’s Coach Jack Canfield wrote in his book, “the successful stay focused on the next action steps they need to take to get them closer to the fulfillment of their goals rather than all the other distractions that life presents to them.” To cultivate a daily success routine, one should determine at least the top three distractions that can prevent him from achieving the day’s goal. For example, personally, radio used to be my top distractor when it came to undertaking my daily work responsibilities, so I make sure I completely stay away from radio during official working hours. That way, I have been able to enhance my productivity and also now successfully developed the habit of working without the radio distraction.
Keep a visual picture of your desired goals and dreams before you.
“In order to carry a positive action, we must develop here a positive vision,” a quote which is attributed to Dalai Lama holds true under many circumstances of life including developing a daily success routine. Keeping a visual representation of your desired end is one sure way to motivate and inspire one to discharge his duties daily. This explains why a lot of building contractors prefer to have an already finished painting of the project mounted at the construction site even before the project begins. A picture of the goal has a way of bringing out the life in the goal and also encourages one never to give up on a dream. Try creating one for yourself.
In all, these are the three main keys to developing a daily success routine. There are others such as determining the core product of your life, which has a lot to do with the first point and recognizing those around you who do not have a determined focus or goal which also has a lot to do with the second point.
