COZA Update; CAN Disowns Members Solidarity Visit To COZA + Kemi Olunloyo Alleges She Is Being Threatened By Timi Dakolo’s Pastors To Stop Her Investigation
Few days ago, some members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), led by the North Central Chairman of CAN, Revd Israel Akanji, paid a visit to Common Wealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), where they assured the embattled Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, that they would stand by him as a body.
This led to a loud outcry from Nigerians as they expressed shock over CAN supporting a pastor in an alleged rape case.
However, CAN, has released a statement by its National Director of Legal and Public Affairs, Evangelist Kwamkur Samuel Vondip, stating that the pastors who made that visit to COZA, were on their own. They also revealed in the statement that the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), are currently investigating the rape allegation against Fatoyinbo.
The statement said that CAN as a body, did not approve the visit. “Those who did so did it on their own. We stand by our earlier release on this issue, that while we would never support any act of immorality from whatever quarter. We can tell you PFN has constituted a panel investigating the matter, and in less than two weeks, the outcome of the investigation will come out. We urge all Christian brothers and sisters to know that this is the position of CAN. We would not spare anyone found wanting from facing appropriate disciplinary actions,” the statement said.
In other news, controversial blogger, Kemi Olunloyo, has claimed that Timi Dakolo’s pastors called her father, asking him to stop implore on her to stop her investigation into the rape allegation. According to Kemi, she was being threatened to stop her investigation, this much she revealed in response to Timi Dakolo’s Instagram posts.
She wrote: “Mr Dakolo, Busola was never raped. You are not telling the truth. Yemi Adamolekun lied on live TV about my DM you released to Gloria the blogger/meat seller. There is no timeline whatsoever in her rape allegations, police just told me you filed your case after the interview, my advice to you is to withdraw your case before these fierce COZA lawyers come for you. Also tell your pastors never to call my father again. Nobody is going to stop me from finishing my investigation. An Igbo Journalist is threatening Kemi in a pastor case about Fatoyinbo. Take your pathetic lies and foolishness far far away from my 84 year dad. I’m an investigative journalist and come for the truth not taking sides, not neutral. The angle of your pastor, TD Jakes and Fatoyinbo is the subject of my investigation now. Why will a Pastor from HOTR call my father trying to back me off from an investigation? Do I tell them how to do their jobs? Your organized attempt to blackmail and extort @biodunfatoyinbo is now looking clear. Come out and interview with a credible journalist not one that cries more than the bereaved. I will release my father’s phone call to the public naming the exact pastor who called him and possibly using you and your spouse as a tool of the DEVIL.”
