Kaduna Bomber Arrest: A Christian Version of Boko Haram Exist (MURIC)
Speculations have been raised as to whether there is a Christian version of the dreaded terrorist group Boko Haram operating mainly in the Northeastern part of the country. This arose following the arrest of a suspected bomber at a Living Faith Church on Sunday February 2 in Sabo Tasha in Chukun Area of Kaduna State. The suspect by name Nathaniel Samuel is a native of Bauchi State and according to his father has being a Christian from birth.
On that fateful day, the suspect made his way pass the security men guarding the church and entered into the church with his bag containing explosives. He placed the bag on the church chair and went to the restroom where he stayed for over an hour. This attracted the attention of church members and the attention of the security men were drawn to the situation. They took immediate action by going inside the restroom to bring him out. An eye witness at the church revealed that the suspect was in possession of explosives in one of the church toilets when he was detected by the CCTV camera and was exposed. Following this, it was also discovered that the suspect have been coming to the premises disguising himself as a member of the parish.
When questioned by security operatives, the suspect said that he thought the bag containing some personal belonging and explosives were fireworks which he collected from an unknown woman.
In a reaction to the incident, the Director of the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), Ishaq Akintola, noted that the incidence is a revelation to the fact that there is a Christian version of the Boko Haram. He also noted that MURIC is not surprise that the arrested suspected bomber at the Winners Chapel Church in Sago Tasha in Chukun LGA of Kaduna State is a Christian. He said also that concerns have been raised severally on the presence of Christain version of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorist group.
According to him, when Christian Boko Haram members are bombing churches, the whole world blames Nigerian Muslims for the act. There is a Christian version of this terrorist group and Nigerian Muslims should not be blamed for all the atrocities. Giving examples he went further to say that at several occasions, Christian bombers have been arrested by security operatives in their attempt to execute terror attacks. Like Victor Moses who was arrested on March 1, 2016, for spying for Boko Haram bombers. He also confessed of carrying out surveillance that lead to the bombing of Madalla church in Abuja on December 25, 2011.
